RIP Robin Williams...

As I am sure it was a surprise to most of the public, I can say that I will remember where I was and what I was doing when I found out the news that Robin Williams had taken his own life...

To Robin Williams, in a sense you were my childhood, growing up watching your films, you brought to me a lot of laughs and even as a kid I wouldn't know many actors names but I would know yours followed by the sense of humour and upbeat nature when I saw you on the screens or just through hearing your voice in Alladin... The world lost a good person... To your friends and family, I give you my condolences.

As someone who has also is going through "depression" I can say that there are many things that can go on in someone's mind that people just won't see or can tell just from the exterior. This is why it is so important to get people to be more open about this form of illness and to recognize it as one and not a weakness of oneself... I know that it can feel like it is "embarrassing" to open up but I hope as society grows and matures, people can realize the seriousness of mental illnesses and now shame people for coming out by calling them "weak" or "faking" it.
