I think.... finally. We have the Spiderman that I grew up expecting to see on the Silver Screen... No knocks on Toby Maguire or Andrew Garfield (hell he is one of my favorite actors) but... Tom Holland embodies Spiderman... the Naive Kid with his High School troubles coupled with trying to be a hero and his famous one liners, this movie had it all; from a coming of age movie, to just the right amount of humour and action with relatable characters and a Hot Aunt May.
From the start, there was a fear that perhaps this movie (based on the 100000 trailers they released) that Iron Man//Tony Stark was going to take over this movie. I can reassure you here... he does not, he is used perfectly as with many characters in this movie. It's a pleasure watching Iron Man mature and grow as a Character over all these MCU Universes and I think I like what he has grown to become in this Movie. It put a smile on my face for sure.
MICHAEL KEATON. Oh my god. We have the MCU's most badass Villain. Vulture in this movie was truly intense and just down right scary at times, and this is largely in part of Michael Keaton, he gave a phenomenal performance.
My Favorite Moment (A Very minor Spoiler? YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!)
- The moment Peter realizes who Spider-man is and in that moment of being intensely overwhelming situation, we see Tom Holland pull off a great scene. In that moment I think the audience all felt his pain but also shared in his Epiphany, it was a very cool moment.
Conclusion:
This movie was truly Awesome. Kevin Feige, once again you've done it again. Another Home Run. Tom Holland, I wasn't sure about the casting at first, but you are now Spider-Man, the perfect casting after what he showed. Michael Keaton as the Vulture... I hope you come back to the MCU a few more times...
