Oscars - 2017 Best Picture Predictions

2016 was another eventful year in cinema. There were some great movies and well.. a lot of not so good ones too.

However it is that time of year again... the Oscars.

Here are the nominees for Best Picture:

• Arrival
• Fences
• Hacksaw Ridge
• Hell or High Water
• Hidden Figures
• La La Land
• Lion
• Manchester by the Sea
• Moonlight

This list is really impressive. Having seen all of these films, I think the only film that was more of an honourable mention is Hell or High Water,  and that was a pretty great film in itself... 

So Who would I want to win? 

La La Land.

Who do I think will win?

La La Land.

Now I'm usually not one that is up for musicals. I am not a big fan of most of them but this movie does a fantastic job at placing the music in it without it being too forced. I don't think I'll ever get the first part of the film out of my head.

Damien Chazelle gave us Whiplash which was also music related and a great film and now he gives us La La Land... What will he do next? He has got a pretty great resume already with these two films.

Who else MIGHT have a shot? 

Hacksaw Ridge or Arrival. I'd have no problems if one of these two won.
