Oscars 2017 - Lead Actor Prediction
2016 was another eventful year in cinema. There were some great movies and well.. a lot of not so good ones too.
However it is that time of year again... the Oscars.

- Casey Affleck, Manchester by the Sea
- Andrew Garfield, Hacksaw Ridge
- Ryan Gosling, La La Land
- Viggo Mortensen, Captain Fantastic
- Denzel Washington, Fences
In my opinion this year is really down to two people... It's not quite clear who will win and who is the clear favourite which is different from previous years. This year is pretty wide open as far as the general consensus is.
So Who would I want to win?
Andrew Garfield.

Andrew.... Affleck? Casey... Garfield... Fuck...
Since the Academy and its 6000 members are only human... I just can't let the combined performances of Silence and Hacksaw Ridge go without the award. I think Andrew Garfield should win this.

If you asked me a few years ago when The Social Network was released. I would have said Andrew Garfield deserved a nomination for his role as a supporting actor... fast forward a couple of years and we get not one, but two very heart felt performances from him.
The academy also likes to nominate and vote for stories based on real life events... (a la Theory of Everything per say). This performance was quite inspiring and Andrew Garfield is the one leading that

Who else MIGHT have a shot?
Now having said it seems more like a two horse race between Andrew Garfield and Casey Affleck... I do believe that there is some chance that the body of work + the performance given by Denzel Washington gives him a shot at maybe claiming the golden man.
